Born
to Sri Kunhunni Kurup and Smt. Narrayani Amma at Kodiyeri
on 16th November 1953. Entered politics through
students’ movement. Was arrested under MISA and
imprisoned for 16 months during Emergency. Was previously
elected to KLA in 1982 , 1987 and 2001. Now represents
Thalassery constituency. Now member of CPI (M) Central
Committee and State Secretariat. He is also CPI (M)
Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader.
