Will sent a dissent letter regarding the Union Government’s decision to disallow Kerala Government to participate in the HLL auction

The cabinet assigned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to write a letter to the Prime Minister of India voicing the opinion against the situation created by the Union Government where the Kerala government can’t participate in the auction of Hindustan Latex Limited, whose stakes were decided to be sold. An order was published earlier which directed the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation to participate in the auction process and acquire the assets of HLL establishments in the state.

The Union Government delivered a letter yesterday, conveying that the state government can’t participate in the auction process. It was in this context that the cabinet directed the Chief Minister to write a letter to the Prime Minister to communicate the State Government’s disagreement with the decision.

Land for lease 12 acres of land in Karindhalam village, Kasargode will be leased out to Uduppi-Kasargode transmission limited for 30 years for the construction of a 400 kV substation.  

Appointments
 K. K. Subash who won bronze in a team item representing Kerala at 35th National Games will be appointed as a Grade-2  attendant at the Kanjikuzhi Grama Panchayath in Alappuzha district. Arunachalam Sukumar has been appointed as the Managing Director of Kerala State Handloom Development Corporation Limited.

The guarantee amount will be increased
Decided to increase the guarantee amount for the National Tribal Finance Development Corporation by the State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. The amount will be increased from 6 crores to 15 crores.  

Period Extended
Backward Classes Commission Chairman Justice (Retd.) G Sasidharan’s term of office has been extended for another 3 years from 13/03/2022.

Compensation
Farmers will be compensated for the dead and mass exterminated birds and destroyed eggs in connection with the control of bird flu in the state. One hundred rupees each will be given for hens and ducks below two months of age and 200 rupees each for hens and ducks above two months of age. The compensation per egg is Rs 5.

The land transfer system will be reformed
Decided to revise the conditions for the transfer of land purchased and provided by the Government under the Landless Rehabilitation Scheme to the landless beneficiaries belonging to the Scheduled Castes.

Mortgages can be used for housing, serious illness for oneself or family members, the marriage of daughters, education of children. This should be based on the certificate of the Scheduled Caste Development Officer of the concerned block / municipality / corporation. Land and housing provided by the department to eligible beneficiaries can be mortgaged to Public Sector / Scheduled / Co-operative Banks and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
