Approval for draft Kerala General Sales Tax Amendment Bill 2022
Approval was given to the draft KGST (Amendment) Bill 2022, brought to amend the KGST Act 1963.
Earlier it was decided to make 4% hike in the sale tax charged on the distilleries, while abolishing the 5% turnover tax currently imposed on the distilleries which are involved in the production and marketing of foreign liquor. The amendment was based on the aforesaid decision.

Financial assistance
Financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund will be sanctioned to the family of late Sajeevan, Ayanchery, Vatakara. He died after fainting near the police station premises after he was taken in custody by Vatakara Police.
It was decided to sanction a lifetime pension of Rs.3000/- each to Janu, late Sajeevan’s mother and his sister Narayani.
