Tanur boat mishap: The Judicial Commission chaired by Justice (Retd.) V.K.Mohanan will conduct probe
A Judicial Commission chaired by Justice (Retd.) V.K.Mohanan will conduct probe into the boat mishap occurred at Tanur Thooval Theeram beach in Tirur taluk, Malappuram district. Two technical experts, Neelakandan Unni (Retd. Chief Engineer, Inland Waterways Authority of India) and Sureshkumar.S (Chief Engineer, Kerala Waterways & Infrastructure Ltd) will also be the members in the Commission.
A financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, of Rs.10 lakh each has been declared for the heirs of the 22 people who died in the mishap. Rs.25 lakh has also been sanctioned for the treatment of the injured. It was also decided to bear the cost of further treatment of the injured.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance of Rs.5 lakhs has been sanctioned from the chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, to the family of Nida Fathima who fell ill and passed away in Nagpur while attending the National Cycle-Polo competition. The decision to sanction the assistance was taken after the considering the financial difficulties being faced by the deceased’s family.
Relaxation in duty time
Relaxation in duty time will be extended to one of the parents, who are in government service, whose children have 40% or more disability due to Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple disabilities, Mental retardation. This is in addition to the existing relaxations and will be for a maximum duration of 16 hours more, in a week.
Land allotted
It was decided to allot land to the Kerala Medical Services Corporation Limited towards establishing a Centre to test the quality of medicines and to do expansion of the headquarters. The One acre 22 cents of land will be allotted in Thycaud village, Thiruvanathapuram for an annual lease of Rs. 21,07,631/- for 30 years, subject to relevant norms regarding this.
Approval for the draft Bill
The draft Bill to amend the Abkari Act towards increasing the fine into Rs. 50000/- for the crimes as per sections 55 H and 55 I, which are not included in the compromisable offenses as per the Abkari Act section 67A . The decision was taken as part of the decriminalisation proceedings of the charges.
Creation of posts
It was decided to create three posts of Malayalam teachers in S N College, Nattika.
It was decided to create three new posts in the Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation. The posts of Joint Director, Consultant and Driver cum office Attendant, will be created.
Pay Revision
11th pay revision was approved for Supplyco employees by incorporating the clauses approved by the Finance department.
Payment of arrears
It was decided to approve the arrear bills payable to the contractors who have removed the debris accumulated in rivers due to flood. An amount of Rs. 40,36,08,265 (Forty crores Thirty Six Lakhs Eight Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty Five rupees) was approved. The draft Bill towards facilitating the removal of the post flood debries accumulated in rivers, was also approved by the cabinet.
New Fire & Rescue Station
Approval was given to establish a new Fire & Rescue Station in Oyoor, Kollam district.
Approval to buy new vehicles
Approval was given to buy 8 new vehicles to the Information and Public Relations Department.
Approval to handover land for compensatory afforestation
It was decided to hand over 20.022 hectors of land in Attapadi taluk to the forest department for compensatory afforestation in lieu of the 18.14 hector land acquired from the Forest Department for IIT Palakkad.
