New campus for IITM-K
Comprehensive administrative sanction was accorded to establish new campus for the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IITM-K) at the cost of Rs.109.60 crores in Thiruvananthapuram Techno City. The project proposes to build a 4-storeyed building consists of library, administrative block and conference hall, to establish a lab as well as other allied development works. The project is expected to be completed by 2024-25.

West coast canal development
In principle approval was extended for Rs.300 crore KIIFB financial assistance for the study to prepare a masterplan for the West Coast Canal Development project titled ‘Transit Oriented Development & Assessment of Economic Development Opportunities’ and for acquisition of land to develop prospective economic development zones, which would be identified through the study, as per the state’s PPP policy.

62 temporary posts
Approval was given to create 62 temporary posts in the 12 LA KIIFB units functioning in the state. The approval is given until the completion of the project or for a period of one year, whichever is earlier and with the condition that the salary and othe expenses of the employees shall be borne by KIIFB.

Vehicles for Excise department
Approval was given to buy 33 new vehicles for Excise department to strengthen the enforcement activities. The vehicles are for replacing the old and obsolete vehicles.
