Compensation for loss of life due to Attack of bees/wasp
The government order dt 25/10/2022 was amended by clarifying that compensation of Rs.10 lakhs and Rs.2 lakhs will be paid, for loss of life due to attack of bees/wasp inside forest and outside forest, respectively. The amendment was given with retrospective effect from 25/10/2022.

Special Court in Kollam to try cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act
A Special judicial first class magistrate court will be established in Kollam to try cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. It was also decided to create 10 posts with a condition that the posts of LD Typist, Attendant and Clerk will be filled through working arrangement or redeployment and a Casual Sweeper may be appointed through Employment Exchange.

Creation of post
Posts will be created in four Mental Health Review Boards in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. The posts include Assistant-4, Security Personnel–3 and Casual Sweeper-4.

An engineering department will be created in the Department of Tourism for execution and supervision of projects in the tourism department. Ten posts will be created and appointments will be made for three years on deputation basis. The posts included Assistant Engineer-2, Assistant Executive Engineer-7 and Executive Engineer-1.

Dr.B Sandhya appointed as the Member Secretary of Real Estate Regulatory Authority
It was decided to appoint Dr.B.Sandhya IPS (retd.) as the Member Secretary of Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

One time waiver: Draft guidelines approved
Guidelines for remission of sentence to those who are convicted upto 10 years, completed half of their term (without remission) and had been involved in criminal activity for the first time in their life, was approved.

Kalamassery Explosion: Compensation of Five Lakh each
Rs.5 lakh compensation will be sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund to the families of the three people who had been under treatment for injuries sustained in the Bomb blast at Jehovah’s Witnesses meeting and later died.

No premature release of the convicted person who murdered differently able women
It was decided that no premature release be given to the person convicted for sexually exploiting and murdering differently able women. The cabinet has decided not to sanction premature release of Prakashan, the convicted who approached the women under the disguise of guarding her and later sexually exploiting before committing her murder.

The Chief Minister has ordered to leave the case for the consideration of the cabinet and the decision to reject the appeal for release was taken by observing that the physically challenged girl who needs care and support of society was exploited in several ways before murdering her mercilessly by the convicted.

Appointment
Appointments will be made to the posts of one senior government pleader and three government-pleaders. Adv.E.G.Gorden will be appointed as Senior Government Pleader. Adv. Ajith Viswanathan, Adv.Binoy Davis and Adv.Tony Augustine will be appointed as Government Pleaders.

Permission for continuance
The teachers who were appointed as KITE Master Trainers on working arrangement basis from General Education Department will be allowed to continue till the beginning of the academic year 2024-25 (Up to 31/05/2024). In the event of unavailability of protected teachers to fill the vacancies arisen out of posting of teachers on working arrangement, appointment of teachers can be done on daily wage basis without resulting in any additional financial burden, of which the remuneration shall be borne by KITE.

Redeployment
The functioning of office of the Special Tahsildar (LA), Power Grid, Kollam, set up for land acquisition for Power Grid’s 400 KV Edamon-Kochi Transmission project will be terminated and the 11 employees who has been working in the unit will be redeployed. The redeployment will be done by setting up a land assignment unit, temporarily, for one year, in Idukki to undertake cancellation of Raveendran title deeds (Raveendran Pattayam) and for issuance of new title deeds in eligible cases.

Approval for tender
Approval was given for tender excess, which quoted above 20.48%, for the project ‘Foot-overbridge at Nehru Trophy Starting Point’ under Urban Transport Sector as part of the AMRIT scheme of Alappuzha municipality. Approval was given to bear 50% of the tender excess from the own fund of the municipality and the remaining 50% from the state share of AMRIT.
